About John Haynes

John has owned and trained greyhounds since the 1960’s, both in U.K. and Ireland. He became involved in the politics of the sport in 1999, when as Chairman of the GTA, he represented trainers on the BGRB board until standing down to join the FBGOA as deputy to Stuart Locke-Hart. John was elected Chairman of the Federation upon Stuart’s untimely death.

John currently represents practitioners (owners, trainers and breeders) on the board of GBGB, is a member of the GBGB Welfare Committee, represents owners on the BGRF and is a Trustee of the RGT.
