About Bob Gilling
Bob’s first introduction to greyhound racing was at the Hendon track in 1945. He became an owner, a trainer, (Reading and Swindon) and greyhound breeder and was appointed Secretary of the Greyhound Breeders Forum in 1973. Bob remained a director of the former BGRB until its replacement with the GBGB.
His training achievements include: winning the Oaks with Skelligs Smurf 1992, Trafalgar Cup with Claymore Spot the same year, Oxfordshire Stakes with Brickfield Class 2007, a greyhound with a career total of 58 open races.
Bob was awarded the Greyhound Writers Association “Services to Greyhound Racing” 2002.
