About Arthur Hammond
I came into greyhound racing in 1978 at the London White City and subsequently Wimbledon – where, having been there only a short while was asked to Chair their Owners Association in the absence of the then Chairman who was visiting New Zealand. He liked the place so much he never returned!
During my tenure as chairman of the WGOA, together with Peter Hartley of White City we expanded the activities of the FBGOA against stiff opposition from track proprietors who saw at that time, owners associations as a threat. How different nowadays!
Currently I am Life President of FBGOA, and Brighton GOA and Vice President of the RGT with 25 years association of that body. Care of greyhounds after their racing days is of great importance to me.
